Depends, where do you live, are you looking for someplace warm? The Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas is a beautiful place to beat the late fall chill. Or, take a cruise, if you shop good you can find great deals on 7 day cruises, they do like to fill those cabins and sell them cheaper the closer to departure date they get.
I would strongly reccomend the Riviera Maya in Mexico. Of the 34 beautiful vacation spots I've been to all around the globe, Cozumel, Cancun, and the Riviera Maya is the most beautiful area. Not only that, it is close: just over 4 hours flying time from the O'hare. And, it is perfect for almost any size family, be it just you and your spouse, or your spouse, Jimmy, Johnny, Jessica, Jonothan, Max the Retriever, and yourself. This is due to the fact that the coastline is beautiful, and there are attractions and fun things to do to fit every budget. ... ... On the other hand, if you want to spare the greens even more, I would reccomend similarly island-style Key West, Florida. Flights from NYC are generally cheaper to Key west in the late Fall season, and it is a great place for a romantic getaway. You should feel welcome to bring children along, as it really is a lot of fun. However, the nightlife-crazed sights of the street of Duval can be rather obscene and sexually explicit, so I'd suggest the Riviera Maya for a younger family. ... ... I agree with kat, I live in Florida (Tampa) and early November is probably the nicest time to go but if your into water activities the water temperature is about to get lower toward the end of November so you've picked a good time if you decide to go there.....enjoy. ... As for air fares, set up some alerts on the travel sites i.e., Travelocity, Obitz etc., Fares change usually due to fluctuations in the price of fuel, right now there running about $163 plus taxes and fees (one way), so if you find a low price, book it I think that locks you in for that fare.- Disney
