I like it. Embracing and celebrating different cultures is about as all American as it can get. I had a friend who DID make a big deal out of May Day because it was her birthday. We all thought it was just clean fun. Oc ionally we learned something too
People just like to get drunk off green beer. its an "excuse" to drink a lot. and run around pinching people. its for fun. when i was in first grade the teacher made little green foot prinks all over the cl room and if we followed them we found diffrent things all of them were green. its all in fun
Just a comment. im from the uk & i do not need a st patricks day or a st georges day as an excuse for a drink, i drink 7 days a week but the day i do not go to work because of it then i will stop the alcohol right away!
Tradition. does not matter what decent you are. I do not do anything to celebrate St. Patricks day, but my kids like to wear green. I would imagine most people do not need a holiday to drink. But it is a novelty to have green beer. Even if you are not Irish, is not it always good to have an excuse to feel happy and have fun im not talking about drinking - people that do not drink normally would not start drinking just because its St. Patricks Day.
