There's many things that can hurt children. But everyone who's married wears diamonds...and many of the have children and they are still living. You're right about the expense of the candy, but sometimes it's just fun to celebrate nothing. We all get caught up in this busy life and seems like holidays and other "fun" days are what slows us down.
Well I get this Holiday and It's my favorite. My Man proposed to me and I think It is the best day of my life.:)
Like any other holiday, it is a day for people to market and make money off of. That's about it. :)

I like Valentines Day. I was married to a loser for too many years that didn't appreciate me and never showed me on any occasion that he felt love for me so to have a husband now that thinks highly enough of our relationship and our love to show me on 'lovers day' just how much means a lot to me. I get flowers (I happen to love roses) and have gotten diamonds for valentines day. I love it. By the way...not all diamonds kill kids. Canada mines diamonds. We don't kill kids here over diamonds! There are jewelry stores here that only sell diamonds mined right here in Canada. :)
