If John McCain supports (as he stated last night) veterans so much why doesn't his record show this?

mcCain supports the Vets big time. You can not just look at the tagged name of the bill only to determine if a yes vote or no vote is good or bad. These bills have a lot of language in them that makes them look good. McCain voted no for funding the troops but he voted no because there was a time table to withdrawal troops inserted in the bill. Finally a bill was passed to fund the troops wit the time table removed. ... ... You have to look at each bill to see why each candidate voted yes or no - just because a politician votes against a bill for Vets, education etc. means the politician does not support certain groups, it just means that the current details of the bill are not acceptable.
McCain supports himself and nothing else. Only after it was apparent that the latest G.I. bill was going to pass with or without his vote, he decided to vote for it. Up until then he was against it but because it would have been political suicide to vote NO even though it was going to pass, he voted for it. The major veterans' groups have not been fooled by him. They know he is just a politcal hack only interested in his own career. If you want four more years of Bush, vote McCain.
